About Villa Relax
Is located in the small town of Starigrad near Senj within the Velebit Nature Park, right by the sea where the mighty mountain and the sea meet. For guests interested in natural sights and relaxation in untouched nature, Villa Relax is an ideal starting point.
Starigrad is a coastal village that can be reached along a road that branches off the main coastal road, and is an ideal place for anyone tired of the hustle and bustle of the city.
Climb up to the remnants of the Gradina fort, which was inhabited from prehistory through the Roman period to the Middle Ages. Beneath it, there are the ruins of the Church of St. Helen (Sveta Jelena), while in the harbour there is the Church of St. James (Sveti Jakov), which was built in the 18th century. Enjoy the privacy of the stunning Grbačka Cove, which is located behind Gradina.
We recommend a visit to the sites from the UNESCO World Heritage List – the Northern Velebit National Park and the strict reserve Hajdučki and Rožanski kukovi and the beautiful Zavratnica bays absolutly one of the most beautiful bays on the Croatian coast. We are sure that you will also like the world-famous Plitvice Lakes or the bear sanctuary located in Kuterevo.
If you want to visit cultural and historical sights, half an hour’s drive away you will find Senj, the oldest town in this part of the Adriatic with the famous fortress Nehaj. The towns of Crikvenica, Novi Vinodolski and Rijeka are also not far away.

The villa has an insanely beautiful seaview. Very spacious villa with 2 beautiful pools, comfortable beds and rooms with airco. Very clean villa with no shortcomings. Enough toys and games for children. The hostess provides different kinds of services such as room cleaning, grocery delivery, boat rent and luggage carrier And also we get a day of choice to eat fresh catch fish.

Great place we are delighted! The hosts and staff are very nice. The refreshments and dinner prepared by the staff were delicious and met our expectations. The apartment is fully equipped, we lacked nothing, the rooms were clean and tidy! The view from the terrace and the swimming pool is unforgettable! Gradina
Peace, quiet, untouched nature, clear sea, beautiful magical beach. In the low season you are likely to be alone on the bay. Crystal clear turquoise water. You can get there either from Starigrad by walk in around 10 minutes.
Mocunig
The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. This beach is not a well-known place, so it is well suited for a relaxing leisure. It is a tiny several bays coastline with crystal turquoise water and light pebble. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers , hikers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season. Mocunig coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. You can get there from Starigrad by walk in around 20 minutes or by boat in 10 minutes from Starigrad.
Ivanca Beach
If you want to spend a day in peace, this is the beach for you. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. It is almost deserted place even during the high season. Mocunig coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. By boat in 10 minutes from Starigard.
Lopar
Lopar abounds with sand beaches and picturesque bays that are breathtaking. All beaches are characterized by a crystalclear, low and warm sea. Out of 22 beaches in total, the most famous is the „Paradise beach“, 1.5 km long. Near the Paradise beach are located all major tourist facilities of which the small Bellevue hotel in Lopar special is. Not far from Paradise beach is a sand beach „Livačina“ which in the paste of pine trees has many tourist facilities and sporting equipment. By boat in 15 minutes from Starigrad
Njivice
Is one of the most beautiful beaches on island of Rab. Njivice offers untouched nature, clear water, peace and quitness. Njivice beach is famous for its white, egg-shapede little pebbles according which the bay got its name the Egg bay (Uvala jaje). The beach i accessed exclusively by the sea, from Starigrad in 15 minutes.
Sv. Grgur
Sv. Grgur is the second greenest Croatian island and the northernmost island with a typical Mediterranean forest of evergreen holm oak that turns the interior of the island into a real small rainforest of seemingly untouched nature. Sv. Grgur is accessed exclusively by the sea, in 20 minutes from Starigrad.
Goli Otok
“Goli otok“. This translates as: The naked island. And that’s true, because the island, which is only 4.7 km² in size and has a gloomy past, is largely bare and barren. For decades, the island, located in the Kvarner Bay between the island of Rab and the mainland, was used as a prison island for male prisoners. On Goli otok there is also a panoramic train. The island is accessed exclusively by the sea, from Starigrad in 10 minutes.
Lukovo
Beautifull beach, clean sea, and great view. Just a little of natural shade, so bring sunshade. Little bar on the beach offer drinks, ice cream, and coffee. 15 minutes from Starigrad by car via local road E65 (Senj).

Starigrad-Donja Klada
Donja Klada and Starigrad are connected by a well-tended walking trail along the coast which features interpretation boards. This trail takes 1.5 hours of easy walking. Dry wall construction technique is not only a cultural and historical treasure, but also an important habitat for various plant and animal species. In its beginning three kilometers, the path towards Donja Klada is well preserved and arranged as an educational trail. It is approximately one meter wide. Except from walking on fresh air, getting acquainted with natural and cultural values of the region, one can also enjoy pleasant views over the surrounding islands of Rab and Goli otok.
Zavratnica Bay
By its origin, Zavratnica is a flooded plain surrounded by steep 100–metres-high canyon cliffs. Around 900 m long, the Bay’s width varies between 50 and 150m. One-hundred out of 129 plant species that have been found in Zavratnica are autochthonous, while 29 are allochthonous. The upper trail with the lookout and the trail along the sea were built at the beginning of the 20th century. Roughly at that time, Zavratnica became a refuge and a popular summer destination for the Viennese and Prague elite. Against the blue hues of the sea, the gray shades of Velebit cliffs stand in contrast to the scarce shades of green and the dark clouds formed by tree shades, that in summer move only in parts of the trail. Zavižan (Nacionalni Park Sjeverni Velebit)
Zavižan is one of the best-known localities in the Northern Velebit National Park. Located at 1594 m above sea level, underneath the Vučjak peak, is the mountain hut Zavižan and the oldest high-altitude weather station in Croatia, established in 1953. Easy accessibility, the existence of a hut and other facilities (parking, sanitary facilities, benches, rest areas, etc.) make Zavižan a very good point of departure for mountaineering tours of Velebit. If you climb up one of the mountain paths that lead to the surrounding peaks – lookout points – you will be rewarded by spectacular views of the Kvarner islands and Lika.
